SAVION: I have a Computer Science degree with additional credits towards my MBA. I began as a junior programmer in the early 80s and climed the hi-tech ladder, where in the mid 80s I was the technical manager at JDEdwards in New Jersey. After working in this capacity for 3 1/2 years, in 1989 I became a technical consultant focusing specifically in the JDEdwards software. Along the way, among other things, I was the technical editor for a JDEdwards technical book published by Mcgraw Hill called 'World, an Administrator's Guide', and authored a JDEdwards OneWorld technical test that is sold to employers.
SAVION: Two things interested me the most in writing ReviewNet tests. First, having worked with the JDEdwards software since 1986 in all different capacities, I felt I was qualified to create a fair test. Second, I have substantial education in English Literature with a focus on writing, so I felt very comfortable in creating the questions in a clear and concise format.
SAVION: The thing I most enjoyed about writing the JDEdwards technical test was the challenge of creating diverse questions at different levels of complexity and in different areas within the software architecture. This was a real challenge, but once achieved, it was very rewarding.
SAVION: I decided to get into the Information Technology field back in high school. The main reasons at that time for my decision, were my natural nack for logic as well as math. Thinking that these two things were requirements for succeeding in the Information Technology field, I went on to obtain a bachelors degree in Computer Science.
SAVION: When a candidate is interviewed, it is sometimes difficult to assess their technical strengths with regards to the specific requirements of the job they are applying for. Having the candidate complete a technical test, the interviewer can focus on the answers given by the candidate for those specific questions that most apply to the job being applied for. In this way, the employer can gain a higher degree of confidence in his decision to hire or not. |
