SABA: I’ve been working in the field of computer network technology for over ten years. I’ve done training and consulting in both the Microsoft and Novell environments and find the constant change and enhancements an ongoing challenge.
SABA: Keeping up is a challenge – but it is part of what makes the field exciting, never boring. I think many approaches are required to keep up including consulting in different environments, attending courses, and maintaining a lab environment in a home office is ideal. Realistically, a useable lab requires a minimum of about 6 computers and you have to be prepared to update the equipment frequently.
SABA: My ReviewNet focuses on the competencies of Active Directory. It includes questions on both the daily operational procedures as well as design aspects. With only textbook knowledge of Active Directory and no practical experience, I think it would be difficult to answer the questions correctly.
SABA: My ReviewNet questions focus on the kinds of information that someone should know to support, administer or design Active Directory. I tried to stick to realistic scenarios in all my levels of questions. The advanced questions are also scenario based –just more complex, rather than difficult questions based on rote memorization (such as seldom used file names, command switches, etc.). This type of information can be easily retrieved, especially from the Internet, once you have a solid understanding of the technology.
